Summary
Assistive Technology: NVDA 20.4 The apps accessibility needs to be improved for keyboard only and screen reader users. Due to this, many tests are not supported. For example, on Tabbing to and selecting the TOC in sidebar, user has to continue to use the Tab key and move past other controls before the TOC items are reached. The arrow keys do not work even in NVDA browse mode. A bug regarding display of book text needs to be fixed. At many places the follwoing code is exposed "../../EPUB/css/%E2%86%92Indicate Pass or Fail"

file-110 | The reading system can be activated independently | If you are using a reading app that requires you to create an online account then the complete getting started process should be accessible. | Pass | The registration process was not evaluated. |
file-210 | Open content | Open the Fundamental Accessibility Test book in the reading system. | Pass | The test books were uploaded to the account by Kortext. No side loading is possible. |
file-310 | Listing documents | Check if you can navigate inside the bookshelf. | Pass | The titles available in the bookshelf can be accessed with NVDA. Discovering the Options button for each title may be difficult for the user as it is not read in NVDA browse mode. |
nav-005 | The table of contents in the app presents the content hierarchy | Check if the table of Contents is accessible and its hierarchy is presented correctly by the reading system | Fail | The TOC is presented as a tree view. However, the screen reader announces "level 1" even with sub sections. The TOC cannot be read with arrow keys, only Tab key works to navigate to next item. |
nav-010 | Navigate to chapters through the Table of Contents | Check if you can navigate to a section by using the table of contents. | Fail | On clicking an item in TOC, the focus does not move to the desired spot. NVDA focus remains in the TOC and on pressing TAB, the next TOC item is read. On switching to browse mode, NVDA reads the book content from the beginning and not from desired section. |
nav-110 | Navigate content by pages | Check if you can navigate the content by pages. | Fail | The print page navigation works without NVDA. On choosing to go to a page, it is not possible to start NVDA reading from desired spot. |

nav-310 | Read navigation information | Use the "Where am I?" or any other similar command available in the reading system and check if you can get information about your current position in the book. | Fail | The page number and location information is displayed at the bottom of the screen but it is not possible to read it without losing reading position with NVDA. |
nav-410 | Perform a search, review the search results | Perform a search, review the search results and navigate to the selected search result in the content. | Fail | Precise navigation from search result to searched text is not working with NVDA. The next chapter/file is not searched, only search result is shown. |
nav-510 | Move across chapters without using TOC | Check if you can move across chapters without having to use the Table of Contents. | Fail | Cannot go to the next Chapter which is in a separate HTML file in the EPUB without using the TOC. This Chapter is "supplementary content" |
