Pass Alt + Ctrl + K can be used to place the bookmark. The bookmark is placed somewhere near the text being read by the screen reader and not on exact screen reader focus.

Pass After selecting a bookmark in the list, the screen reader focus did go to the correct location. An icon with the link "Bookmark placed here" is inserted at the time of placing the bookmark.
